Yo. Here’s another wicked old video of my covering a song written by one of my friends. Pre-bangs. Old glasses. Somewhere in Europe. Dave House snickering stage left. Word.

Way back before the release of Batten the Hatches, before “Hot in Herre” was even a twinkle in my eye, my go-to Top 40 cover was Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.”
I found this old recording while sorting through CDs in preparation to move and thought “Let them eat cake/download this for free/engage in indulgent activity of their choice.” Sooo from my archive to your hard drive. Click on the picture to get something for nothing!
One reblogger of this post is getting a postcard in the mail from me! Winner on Friday! Wooooo!
Favorite Songs - “Tell Me Why” by Neil Young
Neil Young’s Harvest Moon is one of the first records I ever heard and subsequently appreciated as an ALBUM, a complete thought. His voice and songs are hypnotic to me. Also his wardrobe, especially certain fringed leather pieces in which he has been photographed over the years, is a constant source of wonder and inspiration for me.
“Tell Me Why” appears on After the Gold Rush, which has a Wikipedia entry I found most interesting (especially the part about Quantum Leaper/Total cylon Dean Stockwell).
Side note: I think this will absolutely have to be the last performance video I make before improving my video/audio capabilities. Sorry everyone.
++++++++++ “Favorite Songs” is a new video series in which I’ll be covering songs strictly because I love them. No bells, no whistles, just music that I think is great.
