Also, some things which have happened.
I really haven’t been blogging like I want to blog. What a gross word, by the way. Blog blog blog. Things have been sticky and I’ve been traveling. But here are the highlights:
1. Stanley, ID at the Sawtooth Music Festival… Rocked the hell out and PEOPLE CROWD SURFED. They also threw (unlit) cigarettes onto the stage and climbed up to dance with us. The following day all the bands went river rafting together. I spent a lot of time making whiskey-powered leaps from one raft to the next. You’re welcome, America.
2. Austin, TX outside Cactus Cafe… After my set last night I ran across the street to pick up some food. On my way back to the venue I set it down on a low wall just outside the venue. Within seconds, movement drew my eye to the space next to the food box, where freaking HUGE TEXAS COCKROACHES had CLIMBED UP OUT OF HOLES IN THE WALL and were advancing on my freaking pizza. What the FUCK you guys. I am way bigger than roaches. Respect.
3. I’ve had the good fortune to visit a number of totally rad independent record stores for in-store performances and also shop-a-thons. Among them: Record Exchange in Boise, Music Millenium in Portland, CD World in Eugene… and many more. Support your local indie record shop please.
Hm… I hope something really exciting happens soon so this blog will seem less pointless.
